Three years after the album Synth in Japan (split LP with Jin Cromanyon), Soloist Anti Pop Totalization (aka Rikinari Hata), one of the most singular and secretive figures on the Japanese synth-industrial scene, is back with a new album: a brutalist assemblage of 12 tracks cut from oil-soaked, rain-drenched metal, carefully crafted wheels clattering with dark, hypnotic rhythms…

‘Suspended a few meters above the ground by a gravity compensator, he glided through the night. The League's technicians had developed a very quiet linear motor to propel him. He could barely hear the sound of the blades spinning frantically above his back. Securely attached to his chest by a lightweight plastic brace, the device kept him in a horizontal position. Around him, the dark, deep sky slowly swallowed up the city's outlines…’

For the standard version of the album, Stereovoid screen-printed the covers from an ink drawing that evokes both the abstract, geometric coldness of the music and a chaos of dynamic, sensitive forms. In line with this design, the 10 unique pieces in the collector's edition have been created using new materials for the first time: metal, and ceramic, black rubber. Magnetic moving parts, inspired by the album's industrial and playful sounds, can be played like mysterious visual notes from a graphic score on metal plates that alternate the cold reflectivity of mirrors with the bleak oxidation of rust.
