With this fifth album, La Chatte (featuring Vava Dudu on vocals, Stereovoid and Nicolas Jorio on synths and guitar) combines darkness with light, unfolding a narrative that mysteriously balances a raw, restless fragility with the stylistic wanderings—deliberately disruptive—that have been the band’s trademark since their debut 20 years ago. Nicolas’s guitars—sharp, noisy, and radical—blend with Vava’s lyrics, which shift between love, rage, and melancholy, nestled within Stereovoid’s synthetic soundscapes—somber, immersive, or techno-infused. A succession of slow falls on a misty dance floor, contemporary caresses on sofas of frayed, shimmering silk, uncertain rendezvous in dark, wooded corners, a jumble of strange leaves, black branches, roots among which lurk the shadows of animals still wandering through stories of future loves, lost or found.

For the collector’s editions the three band members exchanged texts and drawings across nine sketchbooks, illustrating or transcribing the lyrics of Vava, whose work as an artist has always blended words, painting, and fashion. A series of sculptural stands, designed by Stereovoid as brutalist monstrances or futuristic reliquaries, are intended to hold and display the records and sketchbooks as objects of a pop and enigmatic cult :
