Since the early 2000s, La Chatte has occupied a special place in the French underground musical scene. Led by the spectacular and whimsical vocals of Vava Dudu, the cold and steep synths of Stereovoid (Peine Perdue) and the hypnotic guitar riffs of Nicolas Jorio, the trio fervently unfurls its animal art punk performances, between expressionist cabaret and hallucinatory wave. Their new LP “Ouais !” brings together pieces produced discontinuously over these past few years and specially during a residency at the Confort Moderne Art Center in 2018. Mixed and arranged in 2019 in Berlin in collaboration with their friends from African Acid is the Future and the producer Louis McGuire, the album was finally mastered at the Jardin de Verre in Brussels by Dea Hydra (from Luminance).

Faithful to their appetite for bold stylistic leaps, La Chatte exhibits itself in a « garden-album », full of curious and motley essences. The most varied flavors and sounds come together, from majestic and somber post-punk ballads to more acidic synthetic fruits, passing by wild punk bursts. The release of this outstanding album is also an opportunity for the members of the band to each offer a series of Collectors Record-objects exploring their own paths in this landscape: 12 plexiglass sculptures-sleeves by Stereovoid, 8 minimalist graphic sleeves with animation effects by Nikolu and finally 12 covers designed with original hand drawings and accompanied by clothing specially customized by Vava Dudu. The LP is also available in a simple standard edition of 100 copies.
